Holdiay apartments in Cala Dor

One of the most desirable areas in Majorca to stay on your holiday is Cala dor.  There are lots to do within a short walking distance, and the beaches are beautiful.  Apartments in Cala d’or can be as cheap as £250 per week including cleaning and bedding.  Some holiday apartment rentals have sky tv also if your stupid enough to want to stay in and watch TV.
Most apartments have communities that are secured and have swimming pools that are well kept.  Cala dor is particularly well looked after as it is quite an exclusive area.

Cala d’Or means ‘Golden Cove’. It is situated on the southeast coast of Majorca. Cala d’or spreads near about four kilometres along the eastern coast of Majorca, with rocky coves and sandy beaches, called cala's. A large lovely marina is another attraction of this place.

History
Cala D'or was founded as a fishing village. Cala d’or was adopted by bohemians in the late 1930s and an artists' colony was formed. From then, the development of the town was dominated by the growth of the tourism, which remains the main point of focus for this Mediterranean coastal region. However, glimpses of the town’s history still exist in the form of a busy, modern marina, i.e. home to a large number of luxurious yachts and an excellent selection of galleries offering a diverse range of artwork from throughout Spain and Europe.

Weather
During May and October it remains sunshine with very minimal rain. In July and August it can be very very hot! During the winter months you will find the weather very pleasant, much warmer than that in the UK!

Cala D'or is about a 45 minute drive from Palma airport and about 1 hour from the main city of Palma

A lot of travel agencies, as well as tour operator, offer organized trips or conduct tours.

Most popular cove among them is Cala Gran, having the largest sandy beach with the safe clear blue water for swimming, sunbathing and facilities like sun beds, parasols and pedalos available. Cala d’Or is nearby it. You also find pine fringed cove with a small but crowded beach. Also there are several small sandy coves in that area.

There is plenty of adjacent smaller resorts around the calas along the coastal tracts, connected by the bus services. So you can explore the near by places like Cala Egos, Puerto Petro, Cala Mondrago, Cala Figuera, Cala Santanyi. Boats trips are also available.  Save money and get an apartment instead of a villa and get a good boat trip.

There are two Cala d’Or Express services. One runs from Caprabo Supermarket on the outskirts of town. Then come into town. around the Marina, to the Fort (Es Forti) and to Cala Egos before goes to Cala d’Or Centre. The other service runs from Cala Ferrera (by the Cala Azul Park and Esmeralda Park hotels) and runs to Caprbao Supermarket, around the back of the Marina.

Yacht club cala dor is located on Cala Llonga near Cala Egos. Its a beautiful location.
